WELCOME TO THE ZDIAR - WEBSITE OF ZDIAR VILLAGE

The village of Zdiar is one of the prominent natural, ethnographic and architectonic Slovak jewels. Zdiar is situated at an altitude of 896m [2,940ft] and its territory in the range of 820-2,146m [2,690-7,040ft], oriented in the north of Poprad.

Zdiar lies in Podtatranská furrow, which is bordered by Spisská Magura from the north, by East Tatras from the east, by High and Belianske Tatras from the south (between Rysy and Tatranská fold) and by the frontier with Poland from the west. This frontier proceeds from Lysa Polana southwards to Bielovodska (White-water) valley, then to Zabi ridge up to the pinnacle of Rysy. Adjacent territories: Mala (Small) Frankova, Spisska Bela, Osturna (from the north), Javorina (from the west), Lendak and Jezersko (from the east).

Woods take up the major part of the cadastre; the deforestrated land is in higher altitudes. The overall surface of Zdiar is 2,733 ha [6,753 acres].
