The village has been inhabited since 16th century despite uneasy climatic conditions.
Currently, there are more than 1,300 inhabitants of Zdiar. Not only the ravishing scenery (which is treasured by the inhabitants) but also the favourable position not far from a transit to Poland, all of these have contributed to the modernisation and development of the village.
Activities of local authorities have played an important role in the development of individual and other building of flats including complex civils.
In 2000 we notice that 410 years have elapsed since the first written mention of the village (1590). The new millennium encourages us to evaluate the current situation - in order to compare what our ancestors left for us and what we owe to our children.
